Alright I have a poetry reading for your guys today! I am reading A Birthday Present by Sylvia Plath. If you enjoy it I will read the whole book to you, poem by poem. This poem is from Ariel a book I found very inspirational. I am not much an actress so my readings are flat and my god that Southern accent *twitches*
You did good. 🙂
Thanks Richard! I was quite nervous I haven’t done so much as a school play so I have no idea how to read with any feeling
I couldn’t have done it, so good for you. 🙂
have you tried audio recordings?
I stammer when I’m nervous. I’d make a fool of myself.
I have tried this a couple of times I have plenty of readings where I have stammered, mispronounced words, cried, started laughing uncontrollably. I also lose my voice very easily not completely lost but enough that it starts to fade/crack
Wow! Then you did even better.
Thank you so much Richard!
Oh no, Yves. Your reading is not flat at all. I was quite engaged with the sound and substance of this piece. 🙂
I am so happy to hear it Tony =) I love Sylvia Plath’s work and I just felt like I had to share it
I’m very pleased that you did. I’d heard the name but never her actual work until now. 🙂
Then I have my work cut out for me lol She is brilliant, she is what I aspire too, a poetry idol of mine
You sound wonderful, Yves, no Southern twitches or flat tones. There is feeling in how you read. Now, to write a wordle and then try sound cloud to record it.
Thanks so much for sharing this!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so excited to hear yours =)
