Nothing diminishes regard

Like the undoing of virtue.

I swear to fashion a hell

Sufficiently wide

To satisfy your suffering.

I gather these habits

Before I fall into the gap

Of your gap-toothed grin,

A harpy with a princess fetish.

I remember not how joy goes

But in the end the choice is mine.

However, this cycle began

I exist now only for ruin.

There are only so many ways

That you can lessen a man,

I have tasted them all

And before this is over

I will taste them again.

I remember not how joy goes

But in the end the choice is mine.

Tonight the noose hangs

Low enough to stand.

All love requires

An element of invention.

What you have created in me

Must die if I am ever to be.

I remember not how joy goes

But in the end the choice is mine.

  1. A story in itself, Yves. Resignation with the potential for revenge and/or release.
    ‘….Tonight the noose hangs
    Low enough to stand….’
‘….I remember not how joy goes
But in the end the choice is mine…’
Classic lines that ring within the body of the whole and stay with you after the reading.

    1. Thank you so much Chris =) Actually when I was listening to this on Youtube I saw Vernian Process in the side panel and clicked on it, I really liked the song I listened to and will listen to more XD

  2. I love the opening:
    “Nothing diminishes regard
    Like the undoing of virtue.”

    And these:

“A harpy with a princess fetish.”

“I exist now only for ruin.
There are only so many ways
That you can lessen a man”

Your repeated line makes me consider alternate meanings, such as the fact that perhaps “choice” actually means “of the highest caliber or quality.” Whatever the best is, you’re claiming it for yourself. Not in joy, but in desperation, need, hunger.
