Wordle #18
Lace-adorned cadavers crowd
The mausoleum of my heart
Of all the lives interred
I regret most
Those who were never born
Not every dream has an echo
Some arise with sandstone markers
Declaring at once their intent
Velleity is a curse
That the despondent bare
Momentum is not the sibyl
I supposed as I quit before
I can impart a difference
The only habits
I posses disfigure
Each day another scar
Another wrinkle
Another cross overturned
I sit with my head tilted
Contemplating a more
Expedient suicide
When one views death
As practical
There is very little
Else to expect
My soul is a gaslight
On every face
A nemesis stalks
No one is ever satisfied
Through comparisons
And yet each day
We seek the tragedies
Of others
(Pity is a poor substitute
For gratitude)
I wouldn’t trade
Your smile for a smirk
I wouldn’t change anything
Other than to gift you
Unconditionally with love
To be and know myself
As deserving of reception
The media feeds us
Inadequacy
And we consume that
And little else
If you know it depletes you
Why subscribe?
Prompt #64
Without you, life is purgatory
And my heart in comparison hell
I shall not draw another breath
Unless you first inhale
I’ve said it before Yves, you’re getting better and better.
Laurie.
Just so clever the way you have linked the two prompts Yves. Beautifully written on both counts.
Thank you so much Michael!
Wow..amazing as ever..when I saw so e of the words in the wordle I thought ‘this will be great’ and I wasn’t disappointed!! Wonderful as ever!! 🙂
Thank you Helen! I was a little intimidated by this one even though I created it haha As a story I thought the words would work wonderfully but as a poem I wondered if I’d pull it off lol
My life has felt like this at times. I’ve known suicide ideation more than once. You capture that feeling well.
I wrote a long character study.

Thank you so much magnificent entry I love character studies
Very interesting.
Thanks XD
Wonderfully done and great how you mixed two prompts in one!
Thanks Georgia!
Welcome Yves, just the truth!
=)
The use of the wordle words is compelling, and combining the two prompts gives each a new way to perceive the other.
Excellent job!
Thanks so much!
You do such a wonderful, magical, mythical way with words, even if they are dark, sad, tragic.
The emotions of sadness, love, insanity, pain, caring, and hope come through whatever you write.
Awww wow what a tremendous compliment!
You tell the most wonderful stories your imagination is extraordinary
Now it’s my turn to say “Awww wow!”
XD
