trauma

Blood is a paradox

Contested but essential

To the machine

I don’t regret it,

Being born

Despite the cruelty

That you concede

I’ve outgrown that life

That limp-fisted agony

Dusk no longer

Accelerates my fears

I am priceless

However flawed

I saw my new therapist the other day. I answered questions about my childhood without crying but when I talked about my current struggles with worth I just started balling. I was so taken off guard I actually looked aroud to see where the noise was coming from. Sorry for the dark topic on Christmas but the therapy session left impressions.

  1. You ARE priceless but it has to come from you. Sounds like you had a great session actually. Now that photo does NOT come from wall paper for sure…{grins} Fabulous photo and the poetry is raw as I like it. Happy Christmas xx

  2. Write what you want, when you wish. 🙂
I am happy to hear you went to see your new therapist. It is amazing the things that make us cry in those moments, not the ones you would expect. I hope to hear things continue to go well (yes crying can be well) in therapy. Sending you lots of hugs.

  3. You are priceless! Why is it so hard to believe? Is it something someone said, and what do they know? Make it your mantra and say it to yourself everyday, for it is true. Maybe at first whisper it, then say it out loud and soon you will be able to say it at the top of your voice! ‘We’ are the miracle of our life. Without ourselves, where would we be?

  4. You indeed are priceless and do not appologise for who you are, because you are a very beautiful being!
I wish a happy Christmas to you and your family! 🙂

  5. Been awhile since i stopped by, for that I apologize, though i am glad to see you have learned of self value. Comes through strongly in this poem. Well Done. Your Friend, Shoe

  6. Counselling is very difficult – I often think you should be counselled before and after a session. Still, it’s true what they say – no pain without gain. And there is a lot to gain. Best wishes to you.
