My roots are soft,
Free of dirt,
They dip
Fearlessly
Into the sea
Searching
For the salt
Of an inexhaustible
Sympathy
*
Is it not love
That renders
Us human?
Despite
The deficiencies
Perceived
I have a heart
Whose ingenious doors
Welcome the universe
Unfiltered and who
Find in no man a baggage
Too ponderous to bare
*
I do not despite
Disappointment
Have the means to adapt
An unalterable animus
Indeed all who pass
Will assuredly be
Forgiven
You write very well. Nice work
Thanks!
This is lovely – the second stanza in partiular is very profound!! 🙂 🙂
Oh thank you so much Helen!
Beautifully written. Especially love “no man a baggage Too ponderous to bare”.
Awww thank you so much Sonya =)
There are so many beautiful images in this poem, ‘the heart with ingenious doors’…love that one…
Thanks so much!
there is a really gentle tone in your voice today…does love make us human…on many levels though i think some animals are capable of it….but it is how we love others that makes the difference…and who we love
I think animals love as well and when I see love genuinely expressed human or animal I always cry
Beautifully penned. Your writing is a gift.
Awww thank you Skye =)
